FAQ'S

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable active wear that you are free to move in and allows instructors to see movement of your body while you’re working out. Grip socks are recommended, but dont stress if you don't have any, these are available to purchase at the studio.

I have an injury can I still do Pilates?

Pilates is ideal to assist in recovering from a variety of injuries. It’s important that you have the appropriate approvals from medical professionals you are under the care of and it might also be helpful for your instructor to discuss any specific treatments with your healthcare professional prior to commencing your Pilates training.

I’ve never done Pilates before?

No problem!

You will start your Pilates journey by booking a One on One Initial Introduction with a Pilates Specialist.

In your One on One, the teacher will look at your current and past health and fitness, look at any injuries you may need to rehabilitate, your goals and what you would like to achieve and design a program specifically for you to help rebalance your body.

You will learn the Basic Principles of Pilates, how to breathe properly, how to engage the right muscles and how to use the Reformer machine safely and with confidence. After your Initial One on One, you will be ready to either continue with some Private tuition, or have learnt all of the basics needed to join a group class. The Foundation Group Reformer class is our beginners group class and it is suggested that a new client attends 6 of these to start with, this will build your Pilates Foundation.

How often should I do Pilates to see results?

We recommend a minimum of 2 sessions per week to see results and ensure you get the most out of your sessions.

“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference. In 20 sessions you will see the difference. And in 30 sessions you will have a new body!” Joseph Pilates

Can I do Pilates when I’m pregnant?

Absolutely!

Pilates has many great benefits both during pregnancy and postpartum. We offer Pregnancy Friendly (PF) Group Reformer classes, in this class we modify the exercises to support our pregnant clients. All clients need to book a One on One initial introduction with a Pilates Specialist first, before attending these. We also offer Prenatal and Postnatal Courses, these are usually 6-8 weeks long and are a great way to learn about your body, keep active and meet like minded mums, in a safe and supportive environment.

Please note; you will need to get cleared to exercise by your LMC (Lead Maternity Carer), before you start the course.

Cleaning of the equipment.

We like to keep things super clean and fresh in the studio, After each Reformer class, we ask you to please grab a spray bottle and spray your machine down, wiping straps and leather, shoulder and head rests and the foot bar.

Our spray bottles contain water and a drop of tea tree oil, which is a natural antiseptic. This leaves the beds lovely and clean and ready to go for the next person who joins a class.

Straps are washed regularly and we regularly maintain the machines to have them in shipshape order.
